Care for Your Smile with Periodontal Treatment
Treat periodontal disease, prevent gum pockets, and keep your smile healthy with periodontists in central Texas.
Periodontal Disease: What to Expect From Treatment
You’ve been diagnosed with periodontal disease. The good news is that periodontal diseases can often be treated successfully. Luckily, periodontal treatment has many benefits. You’ll increase the chances of keeping your natural teeth – and decrease the chances of serious health problems associated with periodontal disease.
The first non-surgical step usually involves a special cleaning, called scaling and root planing, to remove plaque and tartar deposits on the tooth and root surfaces. This procedure helps gum tissue to heal and for gum pockets to shrink. This is sometimes referred to as “periodontal” or “deep cleaning.” A local anesthetic will be used to make you more comfortable, and the treatment will be scheduled for one or more visits.

Our Smiling Reviews
Amazing!!
Dr. Shah and his team provided A+ treatment and care. They run a tight ship from front desk to the patient chair and are well organized, kind, and patient focus. Dr. Shah phoned me a couple hours after my surgery to check on how I was doing. My experience was low stress and pain free thanks to their care.

Friendly and informative
I went to visit the office for an appointment on future surgery. Dr. Desai and his team put me at ease, they explained in detail how the procedure is complete and the importance of my health being good before surgery. I appreciate all the honesty.

Compare Teeth Replacement Options
Get full mouth reconstruction with All on Four implants to get a whole new smile in a single day. With the All On 4 procedure, we can replace an entire row or rows of teeth with permanent, screw-retained implants. Also known as Teeth in a Day, this procedure is best for patients with significant tooth loss or decay and for people whose bone loss in the jaw area prevents them from getting single dental implants.
In addition to preemptive periodontal treatment, at Central Texas Periodontics we specialize in permanent dentures and All-On-Four dental implants. These implants can permanently restore your smile and replace missing teeth. From a single tooth implant to a whole new smile, find the tooth replacement option that will work best for you.
Dental implants include permanent dentures (full or partial sets), implant-support bridges, single tooth implants, or multi-tooth implants. Dental implants are cylinders that are surgically placed in the upper or lower jaw where they function as a sturdy anchor for replacement teeth.
